Excavator / Ground Worker

What you will be doing…

  • Excavating & reinstating cable trenches
  • Excavating foundations for concrete plinths
  • Casting concrete mounting plinths
  • Reinstating all surface types
  • Operating excavator up to 5 ton
  • Hand digging and reinstating
  • Working as part of a 2 or 4 man crew

What we are looking for…

  • Must have previous experience in groundworks – ideally in the above areas
  • Must have CSCS Card
  • Must hold a valid UK Driving Licence
  • Willingness to Travel around the UK with some overnight stays
  • Must have a recognised excavator licence
  • Full UK driving license is required as driving will be involved

Workshop Technician

What we are looking for…

  • Good understanding of computing networks
  • Be familiar with identifying network related issues
  • Have a proven strong electrical competency OR BS7671 wiring regulations
  • Ability to work from technical designs
  • Workshop experience
  • Ability to carry out inspections, diagnosis, service, maintenance, and repair on a wide range of EV chargers and parts
  • Be comfortable working with online applications such as service ticketing platforms and EV Backoffice platforms
  • Full driving license is required as some driving may be involved
  • Electric vehicle charging qualifications are desirable but not essential
  • Electric vehicle charging back office support experience is desirable but not essential.

Project Manager

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to our Head of Internal Operations, you’ll work with our existing operations team to manage the delivery of our industry leading technologies. Managing several projects at a time, ranging in value from £10,000 – £1 million+, focus areas will be; delivering on time, within budget, with superb customer service and to the highest levels of H&S. The project manager must have relevant project management skills in a similar industry and experience in electrical engineering and renewables is a big advantage.
The candidate must be dynamic, driven with an attention to detail and positive work mentality.

  • Programme planning
  • Client liaison and management – ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Contractor management
  • Stakeholder management
  • Design Work – our Design Team will support on larger or more complex projects
  • H&S planning and creating a safe system of work
  • Reporting
  • Budget management

  • Identifying and gathering all required permissions
  • Handover pack creation

The Person

  • Technical knowledge:Strong understanding of construction and installation project management, including all of the systems and components which feed in delivering electrical and civil installations
  • Organisation:you will need to be organised and methodical, a self-starter who can manage your own work and comprehensively record what you do
  • Articulate & effective communicator:the ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally, understanding individual needs
  • Attention to detail: Apply a forensic approach to each stage of the installation process to ensure a ‘right-first-time’ outcome and capture potential issues before they arise
  • Passion & purpose: Must be comfortable working in a rapidly expanding, highly dynamic/flexible environment, working with others in high challenge & high support relationships and have the passion to help a small business grow & succeed in a corporate environment
  • People Manager: you must be a motivator and maintain a positive, can-do attitude at all times
  • Decision maker: must be comfortable assessing situations and making decisions quickly

Broader competencies required:

  • Broad experience of Project Management
  • Project Management qualification eg. PRINCE 2, Agile, Scrum, etc

Technical Sales Executive

The Phoenix Works are an industry leading renewable energy company and have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Technical Sales Executive. You will be responsible for delivering consistent sales of our range of products and services including; electric vehicle charging equipment, solar PV and battery storage solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to our Head of Sales, your focus will be to generate leads and convert sales of our industry leading EV charging proposition, with solar and battery upsell opportunities.  You’ll be helping to guide customers, educate them and create long-term business relationships. You will be the face of the business and at the heart of what we do.

  • Identify and win new business
  • Build long term, enduring, relationships with customers old and new
  • Own the customer relationship
  • Know the product and solution inside-out; we want you to be an industry expert
  • Provide a comprehensive handover to our Operations Team on completion
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and service is at the heart of your work

The Person

  • Technical capability / understanding: a background in EV charging or renewable energy sales is critical to effectively selling the services available. If you don’t have this background you should have experience in a similar electrical engineering or renewable energy field and be willing to quickly learn the product & proposition information
  • Organisation:you will need to be organised and methodical, a self-starter who can manage your own work and comprehensively record what you do
  • Articulate & passionate communicator:the EV Charging marketplace is unknown and misunderstood by the mass market, so you must be able to educate prospects & take them on a journey as a trusted advisor
  • Flexible & proactive:you must be flexible in your work approach, adapting to each customer’s needs as well as the volume of work on at any moment – this may mean opening & closing some opportunities face to face, whilst others may be over the phone or via e-mail
  • Passion & purpose: Must be comfortable working in a rapidly expanding, highly dynamic/flexible environment, working with others in high challenge & high support relationships and have the passion to help a small business grow & succeed in a corporate environment

Designer

The Phoenix Works are an industry leading renewable energy company and have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Designer. You will be responsible for successfully overseeing quality installations of our range of products and services including; electric vehicle charging equipment, solar PV and battery storage solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to our Head of Internal Operations, you’ll work with our existing operations team to manage the delivery of our industry leading technologies. You will have the exciting task of surveying sites throughout the UK to create a detailed installation proposal, with projects ranging in value from £10,000 – £1 million+. Your focus areas will be; Conducting onsite technical surveys, producing detailed design packs and quotations as well as providing support to both the Sales and Project Delivery teams. The Designer must have relevant electrical knowledge from a similar industry, experience in renewables would be a big advantage.

  • Carrying out technical surveys on proposed installation locations
  • Detailed Electrical design in line with all relevant regulations
  • Civil work design in line with all the relevant regulations
  • Creation of detailed design pack for installation crews
  • Equipment specification
  • Creation of detailed bill of quantities
  • Installation pricing
  • Responsible for producing drawing packages including panel design and control circuitry ensuring compliance in the development of assigned projects with all relevant specifications, standards and safety regulations
  • Technical support for installation crews
  • Identifying and gathering all required permissions
  • Assisting Sales Staff in the preliminary design / determination of projects at Tender stage.

 

Key Skills

  • Electrical design background
  • Experience in the design and installation of electric vehicle charging equipment, solar PV and or/Battery is desirable but not essential
  • Electrical qualifications such as; 18th Edition, 2391/2394/2395/2396 City & Guilds or similar are desirable but not essential
  • Civils experience – preferred but not required
  • Excellent computer and literacy skills to include working knowledge of Windows based software programmes Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Full UK driving license

Electrical Installation Engineer

What you will be doing…

  • Installing electric vehicle charging points into domestic & commercial properties
  • Installing Solar and Battery systems in domestic and commercial properties
  • Travelling the UK to work on customer properties
  • Attending regular training sessions to learn about installing the latest technologies
  • Completing electronic paperwork including NICEIC certificates

 

What we are looking for…

We are looking for experienced, qualified electricians with a keen eye for quality. To be considered for this role you must hold the following qualifications:

  • BS7671 wiring regulations
  • Level 3 NVQ qualification in electrical installation
  • Knowledge of Part P
  • ECS Gold Card holder
  • 2391 or 2394, 2395 – Inspection & Testing (desirable)
  • Solar PV, battery storage or electric vehicle charging qualifications are advantageous
